Police: Suspect Trespassed On Man's Staten Island Property, Slashed Him

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released a sketch Monday of a suspect who trespassed in a Staten Island man's backyard, and then attacked the man with a sharp object, this past weekend.

Around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, the suspect pried open a gate and got into to the 63-year-old man's backyard on Richard Avenue, police said.

The victim walked out of his house and confronted the man, and they got into a fight, police said. The suspect took out a cutting instrument and attacked the man with it, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital, where he received three stitches for cuts to his arm and treatment for minor cuts to his chest, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with short hair, a thin mustache and facial hair, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing a forest greet T-shirt, black sneakers, a black baseball cap, and tan cowhide gloves.
