Police: Man Tried To Rape Woman In Bensonhurst, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Wednesday for a suspect who allegedly attempted to rape a woman in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn earlier this month.

Around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 5, the 34-year-old woman was walking near 74th Street and 20th Avenue in Brooklyn when the suspect grabbed her from behind and tried to kiss her neck, police said.

The woman resisted and the suspect ran off, police said.

The man was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male standing about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dark shoulder-length hair and thin build.

Police have released surveillance video.
