NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker was hoping late Tuesday to find the owner of a dog left behind on a No. 6 train in the Bronx.

A week ago Tuesday, the dog was found in a carrier under a seat on the train near the 143rd Street station in the South Bronx.

An MTA worker took the dog to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals hoping he had a chip, but he did not.

As of late Tuesday, the dog remained with the MTA worker. She said she has received offers from others to give the dog a home, but so far, the owner has not come forward.
