Police Release Surveillance Video, Sketch Of Man Wanted In Canarsie Rape

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are hoping the public can help identify a man wanted for raping a 19-year-old woman in Brooklyn over the weekend.

The attack happened just after midnight Saturday on Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie.

The suspect walked up to the victim, told her he had a gun and then pulled her behind a building, where he raped her, police said.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Police released surveillance video and a sketch of the suspect Wednesday.They said he used a T-shirt to cover his face during the attack and was last seen wearing blue and white Hawaiian shorts and a white tank top.

Police further described the suspect as a black male, with a medium complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 135 pounds.
