Plumber Seriously Injured When Tree Falls In Old Greenwich, Conn.

OLD GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- A tree fell in Old Greenwich, Connecticut Friday, leaving a plumber seriously injured.

The man was walking to his truck on Benjamin Street around 1:15 p.m. Friday, when the tree toppled over and trapped him.

Greenwich firefighters had to cut away part of the tree so the plumber could be removed and rushed to the hospital.

The plumber, who is from Milford, Connecticut, was rushed to Stamford Hospital in Stamford with serious injuries, officials said.

Several vehicles, including the plumbing truck, were damaged, officials said.

The incident happened a few hours before another tree came down in Bryant Park in Midtown, leaving five people injured.
