Authorities Seek Bicyclist Who Shot Man On Paterson Street

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A bicyclist shot and wounded a man in Paterson on Saturday night, police said.

It's not yet known what spurred the shooting, which occurred around 10:45 p.m. on 12th Avenue in Paterson.

The victim, identified only as a 44-year-old city resident, was shot in the lower leg. He remains hospitalized in stable condition, and further details on his injuries were not disclosed.

Authorities say the shooter was dressed all in black when he approached the victim. But it's not clear if the gunman fired his weapon while riding the bike or if he stopped to shoot the man and then rode off.
