New Rochelle Pre-Schoolers Prepare For Rosh Hashanah Celebrations
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- While Rosh Hashanah begins in just a couple of days, some celebrations for the Jewish new year have already begun.
As CBS2's Meg Baker reported, little ones in New Rochelle are getting ready for the high holidays.

Pre-schoolers at the Beth El Synagogue had all eyes on the shofar, introducing the new year, which starts Sunday at sundown.
"I learned about Rosh Hashanah. We dip the apples in the honey," said one student.
The tradition symbolizes a wish for sweetness in the coming year.
The class of 3-year-olds also made a special sweet treat.
"Honey cookies!" said Oliver.
Rabbi David Schuck reminds families that Rosh Hashanah is a time to step out of the craziness of life, reflect and reboot.
"Example: say we want to spend time with children but when we do, we are constantly on technology and it's interrupting time with our family," Schuck said. "Come out of Rosh Hashanah with a plan to limit use of technology."
In the Jewish religion Rosh Hashanah begins the 10 days of introspection and repentance, culminating with Yom Kippur.
