NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A woman allegedly punched one of the topless, painted women in the middle of Times Square Sunday afternoon, 1010 WINS reported.

One of the women, known as “desnudas,” was talking to a tourist who asked if her husband could get a picture taken with her, 1010 WINS reported.

Suddenly, another woman turned up and said to the topless woman: “You’re nasty. I don’t like the way you look,” and allegedly punched her in the face, sources told 1010 WINS.

The two of them were soon duking it out on the sidewalk, 1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria reported.

Both women were handcuffed, 1010 WINS reported. Video shared by the New York Post showed the topless woman being handcuffed by a police officer while people quarreled.

In the end, neither wanted to press charges, so police said they will likely receive summonses for disorderly conduct.

Police identified the topless woman as Amanda Roman of the Bronx and the woman who allegedly hit her as Angela Portalatin of Brooklyn.

The topless, painted women in Times Square have drawn controversy and criticism.

The NYPD recently established a new task force of 100 officers to patrol Times Square, following numerous complaints about the topless painted women and aggressive costumed characters seeking tips for photos.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has also formed a multiagency task force that will consider several options, including tearing up the pedestrian plaza, to address the situation. The task force, co-chaired by Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, will report back to the mayor with recommendations Oct. 1.
