Old Bridge Neurologist Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patient

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A neurologist was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting a patient at his Old Bridge, New Jersey office.

Dr. Farooq Rehman, 61, of Colts Neck, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct, on allegations that he improperly touched the 37-year-old woman during examinations at his office between Aug. 26 and Sept. 9, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office.

He was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick as of Tuesday night, after his bail was set at $100,000.

Rehman was arrested and charged during an investigation by Old Bridge police and Middlesex County prosecutors, according to the Prosecutor's office. Prosecutors did not provide further details.

The investigation began after the woman contacted police, prosecutors said.
