Jets' Revis Limited In Practice, Decker Getting There, Owusu Out 3 Weeks

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Revis Island reopened a bit on Thursday, but there's no guarantee the Jets' star cornerback will play on Sunday.

Revis, the reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week, was limited in practice, one day after sitting out completely as he tries to recover quickly from a groin injury sustained during New York's 20-7 win over Indianapolis on Monday night.

"We'll take it one day at a time," Revis told reporters after practice Thursday.

Revis remains questionable for Sunday's home game against the winless Philadelphia Eagles.

Head coach Todd Bowles said he is "hopeful" Revis will play, adding the injury "doesn't appear to be serious."

"He did some things in practice," Bowles added "He'll get better day by day."

Bowles did not mention Revis' injury at his news conference after practice Wednesday, and was not asked about the cornerback by reporters. Revis' status was not known publicly until the team released its injury report.

Revis, who had two fumble recoveries and an interception on Monday night, did not appear hindered in any way as he walked through the locker room following practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

As for injured wide receiver Eric Decker, he did not practice Thursday and his status for Sunday remains up in the air. Decker sprained his left knee early in the second half on Monday and did not return.

Rookie Devin Smith, who has been out since the first week of the preseason due to broken ribs, was deemed by Bowles to be healthy enough to play, but whether that happens or not will be impacted by Decker's availability.

Bowles said receiver Chris Owusu had surgery Thursday on his injured right leg and will miss three weeks.
