Pope Receives Gifts From Cuomo, De Blasio During NY Visit
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Pope Francis left New York Saturday morning after his whirlwind visit to the Big Apple with several gifts.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo presented the pope with a beautiful cross. It was cut from steel that was salvaged from the World Trade Center's Twin Towers.
The cross is encased in a wooden box with English and Spanish inscriptions.
The pope also received an New York City identification card from Mayor Bill de Blasio, making him an honorary New Yorker. The ID card includes his picture, name, address and even his birth date.
More than 540,000 New Yorkers have the cards guaranteeing them access to various city services.
