Rapper Fetty Wap Injured In Paterson Motorcycle Accident

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Rapper Fetty Wap was injured this weekend in a motorcycle crash in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey, authorities said.

Fetty Wap, 25, whose given name is Willie Maxwell, was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car Saturday afternoon, according to Paterson police Director Jerry Speziale.

Fetty Wap's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation and no summonses have been issued. The woman driving the car was not injured, and her name has not been released.

Fetty Wap has had a lot of success in the past year with three Top-10 songs, including the hit ``Trap Queen,'' which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Last month, he gave a free concert on the football field at School 15 for Paterson high school students.

His debut album, ``Fetty Wap,'' was released Friday.
