Barclays Center Unveils Islanders Radio Network For 2015-16 Season

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Looking for the Islanders on the dial? You'll have several choices this season.

The team announced on Monday that its games will be simulcast on three stations -- WNYE 91.5 FM, WRHU 88.7 FM and WRCN 103.9 RM, all part of Barclays Center's new New York Islanders Radio Network.

The newly relocated franchise having a three-headed radio approach was important, according to Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark.

"We are pleased to launch the Islanders Radio Network with WNYE, WRHU, and WRCN to broadcast Islanders games this season," Yormark said. "The three-station tandem allows us to reach fans in Long Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan."

WNYE is managed and operated by NYC Media, a division of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. WRHU, which serves both counties on Long Island, will be entering its sixth season broadcasting Islanders games. WRCN, Long Island's only FM station, serves Suffolk County.

Perhaps the best news coming out of the announcement is the fact that longtime Islanders fan favorite Chis King will once again serve as the play-by-play voice of the team, while Greg Picker, a mainstay on the Islanders' official website, will become the broadcast analyst.

Following a 43-year run at Nassau Coliseum, the Islanders will open their first season at Barclays Center on Oct. 9, against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
