NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two men are in custody following a hit-and-run accident that left one person injured on the Upper East Side, police said.

A 62-year-old man was unloading packages from his car on Madison Avenue and East 80th Street shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, when a car slammed into him, CBS2's Andrea Grymes reported.

The vehicle, with two people inside, initially drove off, but was stopped by police on the Upper West Side on West 71st Street between West End and Broadway, Grymes reported.
