Police: Man Tried To Sexually Assault Woman In Bushwick Building

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect in the attempted sexual assault of a woman in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Around 11:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, the 36-year-old woman walked into an apartment building at an unspecified address of the 83rd Precinct, which is located in Bushwick, police said.

He began chatting up the woman, and followed her into her apartment when she entered, police said. At that point, he attempted to sexually assault her, police said.

The suspect then ran off, police said.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his mid-20s with brown hair, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.

Police have released surveillance video.
