Hazmat Crews Respond To Morristown Sports Complex

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Hazmat crews responded to the site of a shared ice skating rink and sports complex in New Jersey Thursday afternoon.

Multiple ambulances rushed to 65 Columbia Rd. in Morristown after a call came in to the fire department about a hazardous material situation.

The address is home to both the Twin Oaks Ice Rink and the Centercourt Sports Training Facility.

Several people were taken away in ambulances. It is unknown exactly how many people were affected.

President and general manager of the ice rink, Bruce Driver, said the call was for the sports complex, and added that although the two buildings share an address, they are not connected with a door, window or ventilation system.

Driver said the ice rink had been deemed safe and the facility was still open.
