Police: Elderly Man Fatally Struck By Car In Gerritsen Beach

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An elderly man was hit and killed by a car in Brooklyn Friday.

The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. in the Gerritsen Beach neighborhood.

Police said 82-year-old Joseph Ciresi was struck by a car as he crossed Gerritsen Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and has not been arrested.
