87-Year-Old Man Who Went Missing After Going To Volunteer In Queens Found Safe
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 87-year-old man who vanished over the weekend after making a routine trip to volunteer in Queens has been found safe.
Julio Gonzalez left his midtown Manhattan apartment on Saturday morning to volunteer at the Elmhurst Senior Center.
When he arrived at the center, a security guard told him the facility was closed, and Gonzalez left. He was reported missing Sunday.
His family said Tuesday that Gonzalez has been found safe and he is currently at Bellevue Hospital in good condition, CBS2 reported.
The family told CBS2 that Gonzalez goes to the senior center five days a week and was diagnosed six months ago with a low level of dementia. He's also diabetic and takes medication.
