The Oakland Raiders and the New York Jets will lock horns in Week 8 of the 2015 NFL season, and if NFL point spreads, ATS trends and other betting data are correct, this game could go either way. That’s because there’s a bevy of statistics strongly suggesting that either one of these clubs presents a good betting option for ATS aficionados to invest in come Sunday afternoon.READ MORE: Police: Man Stabbed In Head With Machete After Argument At Walmart In Kearny, N.J.
2015 NFL Week 8 Point Spreads & Betting Info
The latest NFL Week 8 point spreads indicate that the visiting New York Jets [-3] are betting favorites by a field goal over the hosting Oakland Raiders [+3], and that the OVER/UNDER equals a combined total of 55½ points. One final piece of important information is this game’s (straight-up) betting lines, which currently look like this: Gang Green [-135] vs. Silver and Black [+115].
Jets Vs. Raiders 2015 General Consensus (Week 8)
When opening Week 8 point spreads were released, Todd Bowles’ squad started off as only favorites by a safety over Jack Del Rio’s bunch. As betting action has come storming in, NFL oddsmakers have had no choice but to adjust their numbers. Thus, as of Thursday morning, New York is now listed by most sportsbooks as three-point favorites and Oakland as dogs by that same margin.
That’s partially because, at the present time, 59 percent (636 units) of all wagers have been placed on Gang Green to cover the spread. In contrast, pro-Raiders wagers only account for 41 percent (443 units) of the action, which some may find peculiar given the way these franchises have performed against the spread versus one another.READ MORE: Some Real Estate Agents Report Surge Of New Yorkers Moving From Manhattan To The Bronx
Even though there are only two ATS trends to consider, they are completely one-sided. The last nine times the Raiders and Jets have met, the home team has come away victorious in six occasions, have lost only twice, and there has only been a single push. Also, important to note is that Gang Green hasn’t faired well in the East Bay, as they come in with a 1-3-1 ATS mark the last five times they’ve played in Oaktown.
New York Jets ATS Trends To Consider (Week 8)
As stated above, there are plenty of incentives for those looking to put money on the Jets at -3 (or less for those who wagered early) in spite of the fact that they will be in enemy territory. For starters, Bowles & Co. are undefeated in their last four games after an ATS loss, and are 3-0-1 after the defense has allowed less than 90 rushing yards the week prior.
This team is also perfect in their last four ATS road games, and 7-0-1 against American Football Conference opponents during that span. As if all that weren’t enough, the team from the east coast is also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight-up loss, 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 350 total yards and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
