GARFIELD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A driver was rescued after out-of-control car plunged into the Saddle River in Garfield, New Jersey Tuesday afternoon.

As Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2, the sport-utility vehicle went out of control while leaving a nearby parking lot at River Road and Midland Avenue, and plunged 25 feet down into the Saddle River.

Some civilians went down and got the motorist out. He was headed to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack with relatively minor injuries, Biermann reported.
