Police Seek Man Who Tried To Sexually Assault Boy, 12, In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday released a sketch of a suspect who tried to sexually assault a 12-year-old boy in the Bronx.

Around 3:40 p.m. Thursday, the boy was in the elevator of his building on East Clarke Place in the Concourse section of the Bronx, when the suspect tried to sexually assault him, police said.

The victim was able to escape the elevator and fled, police said.

There were no reports of injuries.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 21 and 28, standing 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 9 inches tall with unkempt braids.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
