Customized Stroller Opens Up A World Of Possibilities For Lyndhurst Girl

LYNDHURST, N.J.(CBSNewYork) -- A priceless gift has brought a New Jersey family to tears.

It has a $4,000 price tag, but as CBS2's Vanessa Murdock reported, for the grateful family, it's a lifesaver.

Squeals of delight were followed by an endless hug for a customized stroller. It was a dream come true for Gia Cruz and her family.

Two-months-ago Gia got a poster promising that her tilt in space rodeo was on the way. She said goodnight to the poster every day.

Now, the real deal is here, thanks to Jeff Leider and the Let Them Be Little X2 Foundation.

"When I saw Gianna cramped in that stroller, so uncomfortable for that little girl I had to do something," he said.

And boy did he.

For Gia's mother Anna Rizzo the wheels are a really big deal.

"There aren't really any words that can express that type of gift for us," she said.

Gia has a disorder called 22q 11.2 deletion syndrome. It affects every organ in her body.

Just 12-years-old she's already endured 26 surgeries and puts up with daily procedures. Without the right stroller certain outings weren't possible.

The chair is pink, Gia's favorite color, she calls her princess chair and wasn't shy about giving CBS2 her most regal wave.

In her new stroller Gia can be out in the world. Her mother said that's really all the little lady wants.

The Let Them Be Little X2 Foundation was founded in honor of Leider's sons Jason and Justin.

The foundation's goal is to create a smile one child at a time.
