Police: Bronx Woman Shoved Into Car, Beaten, Robbed And Thrown Out

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for three women who they said grabbed another woman off the street and threw her into a vehicle before assaulting and robbing her in the Bronx.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Grand Avenue.

Police said the three suspects were part of a group of women who walked up to the 20-year-old victim as she was entering her home, pulled a hood over her head and forced her into the back of a vehicle.

They then took turns punching the woman in the head and body, police said. One of the suspects then took out a small hand torch, heated a piece of metal and threatened to burn the victim, police said.

As they continued to drive around, police said one of the suspects began hitting the victim with brass knuckles. They then cut the woman's hair and threatened to cut her face, police said.

The women then drove the victim to an unknown location, pushed her out of the car and sped off, police said. The woman's iPhone, jewelry, jacket and keys were taken from her during the assault, police said.

Police have released pictures of the three suspects.
