Injury Report: Jets Healthy And In Great Shape To Dominate Cowboys In Dallas

By Abraham Gutierrez

Despite the fact that Todd Bowles and his staff penciled in the names of 16 players in their Week 15 injury report, the Dallas Cowboys will still go up against a formidable Gang Green squad. Jets fans would be glad to know that only one player has been ruled out of Saturday's game at AT&T Stadium while the rest are all listed as probable to play.

After failing to participate in practice this week, Jets wide receiver Devin Smith (knee) will not be in uniform this week. The rookie out of Ohio State is nursing a bummed knee that will cause him to sit out his first game of the season due to this injury. In 10 games played (2 starts), the 23-year-old from Akron, Ohio, has nine receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. On a brighter note, the remaining 15 players listed in this week's injury report are all probable and expected to take the field in Arlington, Texas.

Considering the Jets will be without one of their wide receivers, it's worth noting that Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall are both expected to play. Decker is nursing a knee injury that did not cause him to miss any practice time, while Marshall was also able to take 100 percent of the snaps with a lingering knee injury.

Decker comes into Week 15 as the Jets second-leading receiver behind Marshall. The Minnesota product has 66 receptions on the year for 875 yards and nine touchdowns, while the former Central Florida standout leads the team with 90 grabs for 1187 yards and 11 scores.

Staying on the offensive side of the football, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is also listed in the Jets Week 15 injury report. Suffering from torn ligaments in the left thumb of his non-throwing hand, the Harvard graduate has solidified his position as the Jets signal-caller, going 267-for-445 for 3129 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

"He's very intelligent, he can make you feel at home and he's a funny guy, obviously," Bowles said. "He has his own humor, but he can make you feel like you want to play hard for him. Everybody gravitates to [him]."
