TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Lawmakers in New Jersey are considering spending more money on Rutgers sports.
As WCBS-880’s Peter Haskell reported, the plan is to spend $125-million to upgrade athletic facilities, $25-million would come from the state.
“What Rutgers needs is to make its athletic facilities Big Ten quality,” State Senator Raymond Lesniak said.
Lesniak said the project would bring in money for the state.
“This is a revenue raiser,” he said.
The bill is expected to pass the assembly, and go to the governor on Monday.
