NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – It’s been seven years since New York experienced a miracle.
Friday marks the 7th anniversary of the “Miracle on the Hudson.”
On Jan. 15, 2009, U.S. Airways Flight 1549 made its emergency landing on the Hudson River.

Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger took to Twitter to mark the anniversary.
“Seven years later, with pride and hope, I still see good coming from the remarkable events of Flight 1549,” Sullenberger wrote.
Sullenberger was hailed as a hero for safely bringing the plane down. All 155 people on board survived.
The plane was brought down after bird strikes knocked out both engines.
Tom Hanks is set to star as Sullenberger in an upcoming movie by Clint Eastwood, set to be released later this year.
