NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) 1010 WINS News Anchor Susan Richard sits down with Colin Hanks, star of the hit CBS sitcom “Life In Pieces” to talk about the show’s atypical way of telling the stories of this quirky and lovable multi-generational family.  Hanks also discusses his directorial debut with the documentary “All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records”, and his interest in different genres of storytelling.

LIFE IN PIECES is a single-camera comedy about one big happy family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments as told by its various members.  As the family’s lives unfold in four short stories each week, they try to savor these little pieces of time that flash by but stay with you forever, because these moments add up to what life’s all about.

“Life In Pieces” airs Thursday nights at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
