1 Injured When Greenwich, Conn. Bus Crashes During Snowstorm

GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- Slick roads as snow fell in Greenwich, Connecticut on Saturday led a bus to slide down a hill and hit a utility pole.

One rider was injured when the Greenwich city bus lost control at Soundview Road and Arch Street Saturday morning. Seven people were on board at the time.

The injured person was taken to Stamford Hospital, officials said.

The accident knocked out power to some of the homes in the surrounding area, police said. A heavy-duty wrecker had to be brought in to pull the bus off the pole.

In a tweet, Gov. Dannel Malloy said Connecticut State Police responded to 119 accidents across the state between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.

State police said cars and tractor-trailers were getting stuck on hills and urged drivers to watch out for icy spots as conditions get colder Saturday night.
