Viral Video Shows Man Snowboarding Across Streets Of NYC
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - He's at it again.
Casey Neistat returned to the streets of New York City during the blizzard for some snowboarding.
The viral video of snowboarding in the blizzard has people tuning in, but it also is raising questions about how the NYPD responded.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, Neistat can be seen snowboarding across the slushy streets being dragged behind an SUV.
Neistat called the video "Snowboarding With The NYPD."
Neistat was not wearing a helmet and can be seen nearly colliding with parked vehicles and being dragged through traffic. At one point he is joined by a skier, who nearly collides with a taxi cab after a jump.
The two can be seen making their way through Times Square. They are cheered and high-fived.
Police officers responded after complaints of some dangerous maneuvers.
"Someone complained about you so we're just gonna act like we're talking to you, all right?" the police officers are heard saying.
CBS2 asked NYPD if the cops did the right thing.
"Police Officers have the authority to either exercise discretion or take enforcement action for any violations they may observe," police said in a statement.
CBS2 also spoke to Mayor De Blasio regarding the video. He hadn't seen it or been briefed on it, but clearly didn't like what he heard.
"That does not sound like a particularly safe thing from my point of view. Again, I think the NYPD has done a great job being out there making people safe, but I would urge people to not go on a joy ride that could cause them real harm."
The video has been viewed more than five million times.

According to a separate "making of" video, the snowboarding video started shooting an hour before the traffic ban was placed into effect.
It's not the first time Neistat has done the stunt.
Back in 2014, Neistat released a video of him doing the same thing.
