Report: Giants' Bromley Unlikely To Face Attempted-Rape Charges

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley will likely avoid charges after a woman accused him of attempted rape in a Midtown hotel room, according to a report.

Bromley told cops he checked into the Hyatt Herald Square, went to the bathroom and then emerged to find the 26-year-old woman, whom he met online, naked on a bed, according to the report. She performed a sex act on him and then abruptly stopped to ask for $2,000, which Bromley refused to pay, sources told the Post.

Surveillance video shows the woman badgering Bromley after he left the room, the sources said.

The woman also claimed Bromley hit her with his vehicle as he left the hotel. But he likely won't be charged over that claim because video shows she jumped on the hood, according to the report.

Police also learned the woman has a history of seeking out sports stars through Instagram, the Post reported.

Bromley, 23, is a native of Jamaica, Queens, and played collegiate ball at Syracuse. The 6-foot-3, 310 pounder was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft and played in all 16 games with the Giants this past season.
