Brooklyn Street To Be Named For Cuomo Aid Shot And Killed Before West Indian Day Parade
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn street will be named in honor of an aid to Gov. Andrew Cuomo who was shot and killed last year.
On Saturday, part of Clinton Avenue will be renamed Carey Gabay Way.
On Sept. 7, the 43-year-old Gabay was gunned down in the street during festivities leading up to the West Indian Day Parade. He was walking with his brother near the Brooklyn parade route at 3:40 a.m. when he was shot. He died on Sept. 15.
Gabay, a Harvard-educated lawyer, served as first deputy general counsel at the Empire State Development Corp.
Police have still not made an arrest in the case. Video and a sketch of a man wanted for questioning have been released.
