Cops Release Picture Of Suspect In Slashing Outside Of 'Supreme Jeans' In SoHo

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released a new photograph Friday, of a suspect wanted in connection with a slashing that took place outside of a clothing store in SoHo.

A 21-year-old man was leaving Supreme Jeans at 274 Lafayette St. near Prince Street around 2 p.m. Thursday, when he was attacked.

The victim was rushed to New York Downtown Hospital with a slash wound to his right cheek.

A new clothing collection had just been released at the popular skateboard and clothing store and dozens of people who were waiting on line were witnesses to the crime.

Shoppers said there was some kind of altercation, CBS2's Valerie Castro reported on Thursday.

"He was sitting there just reminiscing, talking with friends and someone comes up to him and it looked like somebody cut his face right here. It looked like a razor blade," said Kaehne.

Police sources said they believe an argument happened after the victim cut the line.

A surveillance image shows the suspect wearing jeans and a winter coat walking through a subway turnstile.

The attack happened about eight blocks away from another slashing that occurred Wednesday night outside of the Silver Spurs restaurant on LaGuardia Place. Police are still searching for a suspect in that case.
