Knicks Coach Kurt Rambis Deletes Twitter Account After Porn Incident
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Who needs Twitter anyway? Not Kurt Rambis.
The Knicks' interim head coach has deleted his Twitter account after having to answer questions about why his account "liked" a pornographic tweet this past weekend. GQ was the first to report on the incident.
Rambis said he did not press the heart icon underneath a tweet showing an Asian woman masturbating, suggesting hacking or spamming was to blame. The Knicks have asked Twitter to investigate.
"It's unfortunate that it happened," Rambis said before the Knicks' game Monday against the Toronto Raptors. "I dealt with it. I've moved on."
The coach apparently decided having a Twitter account wasn't worth the trouble. He wasn't particularly active on the social media site. His last tweet came on Jan. 18.
Rambis, 57, had nearly 44,000 followers and followed 173 accounts himself, including @GreatAssDaily.
He took over as Knicks coach after Derek Fisher was fired Feb. 9.
