NJ Man Returns Overdue Library Book 72 Years Later
BOUND BROOK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Better late than never.
Frank Ryan returned "Football Through The Years" to the Bound Brook Memorial Library Monday morning.
The book was due back at the library on June 8, 1944.
Ryan's daughter Karen Ryan said she found the book in excellent condition in his attic, according to a report.
"When I asked him if he wanted to return it, he said no, he might go to jail, but the library said no, it was OK," Karen Ryan told MyCentralJersey.com.
The library waived the late fees, and Ryan won't be headed to jail.
The book was added to the library's archives.
