PHOTO: Michael Strahan's Finger Doesn't Bend In A Normal Direction

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A ring finger really isn't supposed to do that.

That's a picture "Hamilton" star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda took of Michael Strahan's hand while sitting next to him during a recent New York Knicks game.

"We sat next to Strahan. He is THE BEST. Also, thanks to football, his fingers do THIS," Miranda tweeted, showing the New York Giants legend bending his finger at an awkward angle.

And that's not the only gnarly-looking finger for Strahan. In a YouTube video from 2009, the Hall of Famer said his fingers "don't really line up" from grabbing his opponents during his playing days.

"It's all from grabbing people," Strahan said at the time. "When you're grabbing somebody, and they try to run, and you try to jerk them."

Strahan said he would just snap his finger back in place because you don't come out of the game due to a finger injury.

Strahan also regaled the audience with a story about how trainers would burn a hole in his fingernail so pressure and blood can get released.

Over his 15-year career with the Giants, Strahan recorded 141.5 sacks, good for fifth all-time.
