Man Shot In Abdomen On 3 Train Platform In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 22-year-old man is recovering after being shot on a subway platform in Brooklyn.

Police said the shooting happened around 12 a.m. Sunday on the platform of the southbound 3 train at the Nostrand Avenue subway station, CBS2 reported.

As 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported, the victim got into an argument with two men on the Manhattan-bound train and all three got off at the Nostrand Avenue stop in Crown Heights.

So far, there are no arrests in the case.

The shooting was a surprise to many straphangers at the station on Sunday.

"I use this train station every day and even in this neighborhood, I've been in this neighborhood for about a year, I've never felt unsafe," said Ken.

Police said the victim is expected to recover. They said they're looking for two men, possibly between 17 and 19 years old, Stern reported.

This is just the latest in a string of violent crime on New York City's subway system. On Friday, a 60-year-old man was slashed in the face while getting on the subway in Midtown after he accidentally bumped into the suspect.
