Manhattan Brother, Sister Feared Dead After Brussels Attacks

BRUSSELS (CBSNewYork) -- A Manhattan brother and sister late Thursday were feared dead following the Brussels attacks this week.

Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski have family in the Netherlands, but had been living in Manhattan.

Many have been posting about their disappearance on social media.

They were reportedly on the phone with their mother, when she heard an explosion and the phone went dead.

Their parents said late Thursday that they were not among those listed at any Brussels hospitals.

Also feared dead are a married couple from Kentucky, Justin and Stephanie Shults. They had just dropped off Stephanie Shults' mother when the bomb went off at the Brussels Airport at Zaventem.

The State Department said Thursday that it was trying to get information to loved ones as soon as possible.

"Many of the injured went to a broad swath of hospitals," said State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner. "And trying to get information, accurate information, on the nationalities and the identities of some of these injured has been tough."

The families have been searching social media, hoping someone could provide information.
