Francesa: Oregon Shouldn't Have Taken Last 3-Point Shot Vs. Duke

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Mike Francesa opened his show Friday by chiming in on the controversial ending of Thursday night's Sweet 16 game between Oregon and Duke.

Trailing by 11 with 32 seconds to play, Duke conceded the game by not trying to foul. But Oregon's Dillon Brooks then a hit 3-pointer, which angered Blue Devils star Grayson Allen so much he refused to shake Brooks' hand as the clock expired in the Ducks' 82-68 victory.

"At the end of the shot clock with nobody guarding them, Oregon took a 3 and made it," Francesa said on his WFAN show. "They shouldn't have shot the ball. They were rubbing it in. They should never have shot the ball. They should have let the ball bounce on the court."

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told Brooks something after the game. Brooks claims Coach K told him that he's "too good of a player to be showing off at the end." Krzyzewski denied that, saying: "I just congratulated him. He's a terrific player."

Said Francesa: Krzyzewski "probably was angry, too, because, listen, Duke let them win with class, they backed off, and Oregon rubbed their noses in it."

Francesa also discussed Thursday night's other NCAA Tournament games as well as the upcoming matchups.
