Donald Trump Visits 9/11 Memorial Museum In Manhattan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Donald Trump has visited the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan.

The Republican presidential front-runner arrived shortly after noon and spent about 30 minutes touring the museum.

He left without speaking to members of the media who were invited along for the visit by the campaign.

Trump has criticized rival Ted Cruz for comments that Cruz made at a GOP debate criticizing New York values.

The billionaire real-estate mogul said he found that kind of talk "insulting" and talked about how New Yorkers had come together after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

While Trump took a break from campaigning Saturday to make the visit, Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton continue to rally, with events throughout the day around the city.

Trump's next campaign event scheduled for Sunday in Rochester
