Police: Suspect Punches 26-Year-Old Woman, Pulls Hair While Riding A Train

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Police released a sketch Tuesday after a 26-year-old woman was attacked by a female suspect while riding the A Train.

The victim was on a southbound A Train by Howard Beach and Broad Channel at around 1:45 a.m. on March 28 when a woman approached her and began punching her in the face and pulling her hair, according to the report. Police said the victim was on her phone prior to the attack.

Officials said the suspect also kicked the woman's purse and stomped on her belongings.

The victim was bruised following the attack, but was not sent to the hospital with any injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as a black woman, 25 to 30 years old, between 5-foot 8 inches and 5-foot 10 inches tall, and with short hair. She was last seen wearing a grey and white shirt, blue jeans, black scarf, and work boots.

Police released a sketch late Tuesday.
