Man Shot, Killed Outside Housing Complex In Alphabet City

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was shot and killed late Thursday outside a public housing building in Alphabet City, police said.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the street outside the building at 635 E. 12th St. at Avenue C, in the Pedro Albizu Campos Plaza development, police told CBS2.

The man was wounded in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A witness reported seeing a man in a red hoodie running from the scene, police said.

There were no reports of arrests early Friday morning.
