Officials: Woman Stashed $50,000 Of Cocaine In Coffee Bags

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Jamaican woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to smuggle around $50,000 worth of cocaine hidden in coffee bags into John F. Kennedy Airport, officials said.

Sherese Lee Ann Drake, of Jamaica, was arrested on April 13 after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found the drugs stashed in her bag after she arrived at the airport from Montego Bay, officials said.

After a full inspection, around three pounds of cocaine was seized, according to police.

Drake is now facing narcotics smuggling charges.
