Giants Re-Sign TE Larry Donnell After He Passes Physical

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have re-signed tight end Larry Donnell.

The Giants announced the signing Tuesday after Donnell received clearance from the team's medical staff to resume his career. The deal is a one-year, $1.67 million restricted free agent tender, the New York Daily News reported.

Donnell suffered a neck injury on Nov. 1 in New Orleans and missed the rest of the season. He caught 29 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns, including a late game-winning one against San Francisco.

In three seasons, Donnell has 95 catches for 877 yards and eight touchdowns. He signed with the Giants in 2012 and spent that season on the practice squad before making the team in 2013. He did not miss a game before suffering his neck injury.

The other Giants tight ends under contract are Will Tye, Jerome Cunningham and Matt LaCosse.
