MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police on Long Island say they’ve arrested a man accused of using a blowtorch to break into a Burger King restaurant.
Nassau County police say Latise Eady was arrested Wednesday on arson and burglary charges. His attorney didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
Police say Eady used a blowtorch to break into a Burger King restaurant in East Meadow in December. He’s also accused of breaking into two T-Mobile stores by breaking the glass on the front doors.
Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter says Eady is a suspect in nearly a dozen other burglaries, though he hasn’t been arrested or charged in those incidents.
He says Eady is currently on parole for armed robbery.
Eady is currently being held in Hempstead on $300,000 bail after his arraignment on Thursday.
