United Flight From Newark Makes Emergency Landing In Cleveland Due To Engine Issue

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A United Airlines flight from Newark had to make an emergency landing in Cleveland due to an engine issue.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement the United B737 was flying from Newark to Omaha, Nebraska, before making the emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

United said one of the pilots of Flight 38 reported an issue with one of the engines, so the crew decided to divert to the nearest airport available.

The plane was inspected and United is working to accommodate the passengers.

Sam Ro, the managing editor of Yahoo Finance, was on the plane and tweeted about the emergency landing, CBS affiliate WOIO-TV, Cleveland reported.

Ro praised the flight crew involved in the emergency landing as "amazing."
