Police: 60-Year-Old Man Knocked Unconscious By Teen In Deer Park

DEER PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Three Suffolk County teens were arrested after allegedly assaulting a 60-year-old man earlier this week.

According to police, one teen approached the victim while he was walking along Deer Park Avenue at around 12:55 p.m on May 4. Police said the suspect then punched the victim in the face, causing the man to fall to the ground, unconscious.

The suspect then fled the scene with two other teens who were in a car nearby. The victim was left on the side of the road.

The victim, of Shirley, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where he was treated for multiple fractures to his face.

Suffolk County police arrested the 16-year-old suspect who punched the victim along with Adonis Byers 16, of Deer Park, and Jean Jimenez, 16 of Deer Park, in connection to the incident. All three teens face charges of reckless endangerment and assault, police said.

The unnamed 16-year-old suspect is also facing similar charges in connection to an assault of an 18-year-old man at a Taco Bell earlier that day.

The suspect will be charged as a juvenile since he was 15 at the time of the attacks, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned later this month.
