LYNDHURST, N.J (CBSNewYork) -- Lyndhurst Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole $1,500 worth of booze from a liquor store earlier this year.

According to Lyndhurst police captain John Valente, the suspect was able to make several trips in and out of Riverside Liquors on March 19, taking bottles of booze while the store clerk was asleep. The suspect first entered the store at around 6:20 p.m.

Valente said the liquor store did not realize they had been burglarized until several days later and were prompted to check surveillance video.

The suspect is described as between 40 and 50 years old and was wearing blue jeans, a gray jacket and a button-down shirt at the time of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
