Fire Rips Through Home In New Hyde Park

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Firefighters spent more than an hour battling a blaze in New Hyde Park, Long Island late Saturday.

The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 558 N. 1st St., Nassau County police said.

Video from the scene showed bright orange flames raging amid a haze of smoke at a house on the block.
It took firefighters until almost midnight to get the fire under control, police said.

Police said no one was seriously hurt.

It was not clear early Sunday what caused the fire.
