Paramus School Bus Goes Up In Flames

PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A school bus went up in flames in Paramus, New Jersey, on Monday afternoon.

Police said the driver had just picked up students from the high school when he noticed smoke coming from the bus.

The driver immediately pulled over on Spring Valley Road and got the 22 kids off the bus safely.

The fire department said it appeared the flames started in the engine compartment and that the fire doesn't appear suspicious.

The road was closed for three hours to clean up the spilled fuel.
