Police: Man Follows Woman 30 Miles To Take Upskirt Videos Of Her

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island have arrested a man accused of taking videos under a woman's skirt after he allegedly followed her for 30 miles.

Renaldy Jeannot, 25, of Valley Stream, followed the 31-year-old attorney into an office building in Garden City and then used his iPhone to take the videos, police said.

Garden City authorities said the accused stalker spotted the woman picking up her car on Avenue Z in Brooklyn, jumped into his vehicle and followed her for 30 miles to her law firm in Garden City.

CBS2's Jennifer McLogan reported that according to the criminal complaint, Jeannot walked up behind the victim and placed his iPhone 6 under her skirt and took video up her skirt while in an elevator in Garden City.

Police said it seemed Jeannot recorded while her back was turned.

The woman noticed what was happening and notified police. She also wrote down his license plate number.

The incident occurred on May 9.

Jeannot was arrested Monday and charged with stalking and unlawful surveillance.

Officials said Jeannot took the images for sexual gratification.

"This is just an example of technology we need in our lives, but in the hands of a predator, becomes very dangerous," Nassau District Attorney Madeline Singas said. "Women especially feel very vulnerable and need to be vigilant."

Women were rattled at what Jeannot allegedly did.

"If I am walking with my cellphone and have my ear pieces on, making sure I am looking around," Queens resident Shirelle Webb said.

Rockville Centre resident Katie Haynes said, "It is scary that women are victims to that. Just be aware of your surroundings."

Jeannot is a part-time engineering student at Nassau County Community College and is a driver for a women's clothing company.

Police said they recovered the phone and videos, but did not recover a selfie stick.

Jeannot pleaded not guilty and has not yet posted the $10,000 bond. He is also the father of a young child.

The attorney's friends said the victim is smart and strong and the accused stalker picked on the wrong woman.
